In-House Charity Training Courses
Rob Legge's charity training courses cover leadership, management, personal development and specialist skills for front line staff and volunteers. The courses are ideal for charities and other third sector organisations looking to develop a comprehensive and professional in-house training programme. Course content is standard but can be adapted to meet your organisation's needs.
In addition to in-house programmes it is possible to book onto open courses run at BVSC Birmingham. Check out the Open Training Courses page for details.

Here's why you should explore bespoke training courses with Rob Legge
"I am the Executive Director of West Midlands Anti Slavery Network. We regularly review the training needs of our staff including my own and we recognised that the senior management team would benefit from a Managing Teams course. In part this was highlighted by the need to manage staff in a very different way whilst the organisation worked from home during covid and lockdown. Managing teams at a distance, identifying a team members well being, motivating and accountability were all new challenges when not actually meeting people face to face over a long period of time.
Our colleagues at BVSC recommended Rob Legge as someone they had previously connected with before providing bespoke training packages. After making contact and discussing our needs, and importantly how our organisation is set up and what our work involves we decided to commission Rob to provide our training. It consisted of a series of sessions, some we did as a team and some were one to one with Rob.
It was an excellent course, Rob is hugely experienced and has the skill to bring out the best in people and provide guidance on good management skills. In fact one finds out a lot about their team whilst taking part in this course making you realise what an excellent team you have. Rob has a unique way of drawing out the information and ideas from you instead of purely speaking from a powerpoint - we all really benefited from this course and most of all the team enjoyed it. They are still referring to and using the managing techniques that Rob covered in the course
I would highly recommend Rob and happy to give him a reference if you are thinking of engaging his services"

Benefits Of In-House Training
Reduced costs and travel time
There can be significant reductions in training costs and management time by hosting training in-house.
Bespoke course content tailored to your organisation
Sport4life and Kidney Research UK valued the ability to adapt a course to emphasise specific training requirements for their organisation’s specific needs. The Lisieux Trust based in Erdington wanted a training programme that was flexible for different managers.
More effective use of time
In-house programmes can be scheduled around work days making it easy to plan training days and individual coaching sessions. Essential Trading (a worker’s cooperative) in Bristol wanted help with project management but had no additional time to dedicate to a course. As a solution a basic workshop was tagged onto their management committee meetings with Skype and phone call follow ups.
Managing change proactively by supporting staff
Gateway Family Services used my Career Coaching package in-house to support staff under the threat of redundancy by helping them explore personal change, develop their individual CVs and practice interview techniques.
Ongoing professional support
As part of the process of delivering in-house training courses a good rapport and relationship is often created. Frequently this leads to ongoing tailored support and extensions of the original training plan.
